Dragonflight GameCon 2025
The Eastside Order of Cascadian Cleromancers (OCC) is an eclectic group of nerds designing and playing games that are not D&D 5e or *Finder. Our crew formed up in orbiting DCC and OSR centers of gravity in 2021 as a community of gamers seeking the RPG path less traveled.
We love and appreciate our Seattle members, but we focus our attention on the Eastside of Puget Sound (Bellevue, Bothell, Duvall, Redmond, etc), building community here to preclude the need to regularly travel to Seattle, and focus on tabletop rather than online play. We play loads of games and are always looking for new friends and party members - from old-school gaming gaming to newer games, we gather at the table and play.
Our efforts at Dragonflight GameCon included a Gauntlet of DCC (MCC, WF, etc) games along with other shenanigans of whatever creative invention we can manage.
For Dragonflight 45, the Eastside OCC presents:
The Gauntlet!
The Gauntlet is a series of 28 officially scheduled (plus, invariably, some off-book) DCC, MCC, XCC, Dying Earth, etc. It is essentially a high-level *CC meta-funnel!
- No need for experience with DCC-based games. Learn as you go. We’ll help you level and etc
- Sequenced from lower to higher levels throughout the convention
- Start level 0 PCs on Friday and proceed up through level 4+ sessions on Sunday, or…
- Pick up a PC of appropriate level in any given session and carry survivors forward
- PCs level after each session!
- For ultimate nerd cred, bragging rights, and possibly true fame, run a level 0 PC up to Level 5
- Bring survivors to Eastside OCC games throughout the year!
- Earn a seat in a post-DFC playtest of The 10th Doomstar. Try to save the universe!
- But most importantly, meet new gamer friends - there is no freeze here in the OCC. ;)
The WFRP 1e-adjacent Cycle
We offer four loosely connected sessions set in the finest of Warhammer settings: The Old World (of Warhammer Fantasy Battle and Roleplay 1e fame).
- Two sessions are included in The Gauntlet, run using DCC rules but set in The Old World
- One Braunstein (!), a game that represents the historical missing link between wargames and RPGs
- One Warhammer Fantasy Battle 1e session featuring a ’lesser ziggurat’ terrain model!
Games run by their authors
- Three Lords of Chaos introductory sessions, run by the author of both game and adventure
- An 8-hour, late-night, drop-in/out AD&D1e session, run by the author of the adventure
- Two sessions of Brutal Blades, run by the author of both game and adventure
- One session of Outworlder, run by the author of both game and adventure
- A three-part Dread series, run by the author of the adventure
Other Cool Stuff
- A late-night Mausritter mini-campaign set over two sessions Friday and Saturday.
- A three-part OSE sequence
- A bunch of horror sessions, including Vaesen, CoC, and Mothership (along with DCC/MCC horror stuff)
- Off-book impromptu games that spring to life as whim and schedule dictates
